Repost of Life Update from Larry Yost (2/7/09)

This is a reposting of a Life Update from Larry Yost (2/7/09)....Carl:
Hi everyone from the tundra of Buffalo, New York. It's been a cold, snowy winter. I can't believe I'm still here. I tried getting away from Buffalo back in 1985 and transferred/relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, but my employer was acquired and things went downhill from there. At the time, I wanted to seek new employment in Dallas, Texas, but my wife Aurora wanted to move back to Buffalo to be with her family. I guess you can figure out who won that debate, so here I am!!! Hopefully, in three years I can fully retire and do the "snowbird" thing. We own a condo in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and would live in Buffalo for about eight months (May-Dec) and in Ft. Lauderdale for about four months (Jan-Apr). My only fear is what might further happen negatively to my retirement savings between now and then given the current economic crisis. It has already taken a big hit. This whole economic situation has caused me to lose faith in many of our politicians (republicans and democrats), and as Aurora would say, the government (federal, state, and local) and its politicians are like a legalized mafia, and she should know being from Sicily and all. Moving on to better thoughts....

I have two sons, Michael (30) and David (25), and a granddaughter Sydney (10 mos) daughter of Michael, all living in Buffalo. All are great and Sydney is sooo cute. Michael is a senior network engineer and David is in graduate school working on his Master's in Creative Studies and Leadership Skills. What that is I haven't figured out, but I hope he is able to find a job when he finishes in Dec '09.

Aurora and I had a good time at the Reunion and it was great to see and chat with all who were there. It would have been better if more classmates could have made it. Maybe more will show next time???? Went to the Wine Festival in Northeast a month or so after the Reunion and toured a couple of Bob Mazza's wineries. It was a good time and Gary Mosier was our tour guide for one of the tours. It was good to see him.....

That's it for now and thanks Carl for your efforts in putting together this web site.
